After studying nutrition and well-being, the students worked in small groups to write and record nutrition raps. They took photos and made slideshows to accompany thier songs. Enjoy!

We love to sing! Here’s a medley of Put a Little Love in Your Heart and Lean On Me that we shared at a recent open house. We also sang it for the whole school at our Friday Afternoon Meeting. It was a great hit!

Electricity Open House

Third quarter is ending, but not before we invite family and friends in to see what we’ve been up to. See our electrified buildings, with working lights, buzzers, and fans. Then wander over to read the latest fictional narratives, which will be published in hardcover form soon. See the Technic Lego and Snap Circuit constructions, as well as the expository writings on energy resources used to make electricity. The students enjoy sharing all their work, and families like seeing first hand how their children are learning.

Winter Haiku and Tanka

It was a snowy winter for North Carolina this year. With days off from school, students had all kinds of fun in the snow. When we returned from out time off, each child learned about Japanese poetry forms, Haiku and Tanka, then wrote several to express their wintry experiences and feelings.
